ESPN retains Erin Andrews
It was announced on Monday that reporter and TV personality Erin Andrews has resigned with ESPN, largely because of her new expanded role with the network.
Andrews, who has served as a field reporter for football games for ESPN, gained national attention a couple of years ago when it was discovered she was being stalked by a man who took footage of her at a hotel and uploaded it to the internet (he’s now serving time in jail). As part of her recovery and moving forward with her life, she appeared as a contestant on the tenth season of Dancing with the Stars.
In fact, Andrews had tails wagging at some of her routines with demanding dance pro, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, which included a steamy bed dance. Her efforts found Andrews in the finals. Ultimately, she finished a terrific third.
As part of her new contract, the blonde sidelines reporter will now be a part of College Game Day as well as joining Good Morning America as a contributor on a regular basis.
For Andrews, that was what prompted her to resign her contract with the cable sports channel. She wants growth, and this hosting gig on Game Day will give her that opportunity.
