Roku News: IPO? ESPN adds more channels to WatchESPN App; Amazon to challenge Roku?
Roku made headlines last week when it was rumored that the streaming TV box maker was in the process of weighing an initial public offering (IPO) in 2014.
Nothing official has been announced yet, but Bloomberg mentioned a few details about the rumor from unidentified sources familiar with the matter.
15 new channels coming to WatchESPN App on Roku and Apple TV
ESPN has expanded their WatchESPN app to include 15 collegiate conference channels, which includes both live events and replays.
The conference channels include: ACC, America East, Atlantic Sun, Big South, Big West, Horizon, Mid-American, Metro Atlantic Athletic, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Southern, Sun Belt, Southland, Mid-Eastern Athletic, Southwestern Athletic and Central Intercollegiate Athletic conferences.

Amazon bringing a streaming TV box to market in 2014 to challenge Roku and Apple TV?
With Amazon’s streaming content offerings on its Prime service, there seems to be some speculation that the world’s #1 online retailer is working on a competing streaming TV box.
Worth mentioning is Amazon’s acquisition earlier this month of game maker, Double Helix, which may be somehow tied to an Amazon offering a streaming box with gaming capability. Or a game console. Or both.
New Themes and Third-party support for Customizable Roku Home Screen
Roku will soon offer customizable home screens to its interface, offering users a way to personalize their Roku experience. GigaOM originally broke the story earlier in February, but users should start to see availability of the customizable themes and skins within the next week or two.
