Three Souls: A Novel (P.S.)

An soaking up novel of romance and revolution, loyalty and relations, sacrifice and timeless love

We have 3 souls, or so i might been instructed. yet simply in demise might I determine this....

So starts off the haunting and pleasing story, set in 1935 China, of the ghost of a tender girl named Leiyin, who watches her personal funeral from above and wonders why she is being denied access to the afterlife. Beside her are 3 souls—stern and scholarly yang; impulsive, romantic yin; and clever, shining hun—who will consultant her towards knowing. She needs to, they inform her, make amends.

As Leiyin delves again in time with the 3 souls to check her lifestyles, she sees the spoiled and privileged teen she as soon as used to be, a woman who's all in favour of her personal wants whereas China is fractured via civil conflict and social upheaval. At a celebration, she meets Hanchin, an enthralling left-wing poet and translator, and immediately falls in love with him.

When Leiyin defies her father to pursue Hanchin, she learns the cruel truth—that she is powerless over her destiny. Her punishment for disobedience ends up in exile, an undesirable marriage, a being pregnant, and, finally, her loss of life. And whilst she discovers what she needs to do to be published from limbo into the afterlife, Leiyin realizes that the time for making amends is shorter than she thought.

Suffused with background and literature, Three Souls is an epic story of revenge and betrayal, forbidden love, and the associated fee we're keen to pay for freedom.
