FCC to Hold Nationwide DTV Test Before Digital Transition
The Federal Communications Commission is requesting that broadcasters hold three Digital TV tests on May 21, 2009.
According to WSJ, the DTV tests would occur at 7:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and give viewers one more chance to find out if their television sets are ready for digital signals before the Digital Transition on June 12th, 2009.
Viewers who have an analog television with an antenna must connect a converter box to the TV set to continue receiving television signals after June 12th. The Government is giving out $40 DTV Coupons to elgible consumers to help with the purchase of up to 2 converter boxes for each home.
