Closed Caption on Peacock

Any ideas why my closed caption doesn't work on Peacock? I don't have a problem with other apps. Youtube doesn't work either, but I'm ok with that.

on cox contour you press the down arrow that opens the pause, fast forward, episode menu at the bottom of the screen.
Move the highlight over to the caption icon, click and select ON
Trouble is, you have to do it once a video is playing. Each time you sign on, it defaults to NO cc, so you need to do it again..... and again... and again.
NBC should get their act togeather on this. All the other providers let you set and forget.

I've had one time when the SUBTITLES IN ENGLISH closed captioning actually turned on but with all other like Debris series, the closed captioning does not work. Try again and again to select, the words appear on the screen English subtitles appear but NO CLOSED CAPTIONING on the screen when viewing. &$ and this closed captioning means a lot.

I was able to turn on closed captioning once but every other time it has failed. Very annoying.

This is the third time I have gone thru the requirements to post a reply and have had to start over perhaps because I am making a complaint about the closed captioning not working. even. when following directions.
