Go to the menu on your television and select "antenna" rather than "cable". That tells your tuner to 'look' for an antenna. The next step is to "scan for channels" and your tuner will 'look' for free over-the-air stations.

I called and was told that I HAD TO LOOK IT UP, I thought that was the purpose of the customer service job. To help out customers when we called in. Crap if I had known this I would have stayed with my local company, Sudden Link! They might have been much more expensive, but at least their customer reps spoke English and were HONEST!

Hey guess what fellows, I'm a 60 year old young man, Veteran and I am damm sure don't need someone to approve the honest true on here!! Unless you have something to hide.....Like maybe that you can't provide the product that you tell everybody that you can....or how after a period of time your prices jump sky high.....or how your reps are very rude to us, the customers that keep you, the upper management in your fancy houses.....or how you don't respond in person, just have a computer answer your emails and phone calls. And when you do call, you get an answer service that gives you a run around to the point that you just want to give up and hang up, how about this, you call me?

If it is available off air in your area, why not put up an antenna to receive it for free? Why pay for something you can get for free? I have DirecTV too, but do not pay for the locals because I get more locals than they offer using an antenna.
Because you can't record MeTV programs on the DirecTV DVR with an antenna.

Mickey,

Assuming you have an open HDMI port, you can record free OTA programming using a variety of devices including a stand-alone DVR or an inexpensive D2A Converter Box like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Mediasonic-H...51&sr=8-11-spons&keywords=converter+box&psc=1

The quality of the recorded video will be far superior to DirecTV or Cable because the data is not highly compressed and since you own it, there are no monthly charges.
