Droopy Eyes

Am I the only person that gets sleepier the longer I try to stay awake. Like right now I have a million and one things that I need to be doing but my eyes have other plans. I actually have to pick someone up at 2 am and I don't know if I'm going to make it. All I keep thinking about is going to sleep. Unfortunately duty calls. UGGGGHHHH

I actually have a problem with I am really tired during the day, but I stay awake anyways. But when it hits night time I seem to be wide awake... I have absolutely no idea what that is.

I find that when i'm pulling an all-nighter, I actually hit a point at which I'm not tired anymore! That usually happens around 4am, when I start getting loopy haha. Then around 11am or 12pm it hits real hard and I fall asleep where ever I am.

I have also noticed that my sleeping habits have changed with each pregnancy. With my daughter, I did nothing but sleep. With my son, it was kind of moderate. With this one, I actually do not sleep hardly ever.

I always feel most tired at around 4-5pm. The blandness of the pre-evening sun gets to me and I don't want to go on. But night hits and with it a world of possibilities. Thus I'm wide awake until I decide to lay down and almost instantly I'm asleep. Even after I drink a couple of Dr. Peppers, I can still fall asleep within a 5 minute mark.

So I never have any problems falling asleep when I want to. I'm sorry everyone.

I think the people who have the most problem sleeping are the people who (ironically) sleep the least. Whenever you start sleeping and waking at constant times, sleep comes pretty easily. I think the key tips are just to avoid computer / phone screens too late at night, and get your thoughts running too much before bed. I tend to read even if that makes me fall asleep on the first page.

I have to say that you and my mother are really lucky. Because when you guys read you get tired. I on the other hand, if I read... I am so not sleeping. So, if I get tired, say around 1pm, almost to the point I can't hold my eyes open, I grab a book start reading and by the time I realize it, its like 3-4 hours later and I am just fine.

I guess it depends on the kind of book. It the reading's too fast paced, I actually can stay up hours longer than originally anticipated. But if it's a duller classic, I fall asleep pretty quickly :p

I know that's like mandatory reading for my youth, but I still haven't read it. I remember for my 18th birthday, one of my friends wanted to give me the "youth" I had missed out on, so she gave me a DVD of the Wizard of Oz, Chronicles of Narnia, and some Pocky. Good birthday overall!
