How much would it cost to have DirecTV come and install something?

I would like a cable run to another room in my house. How much do you think DirecTV would charge me to run something like that? Could I negotiate the cost of renting another DVR to include a free installation of the cable to my room?

It doesn't hurt to call and ask them but I couldn't tell you for sure one way or another if they charge for the outlet. If you are getting another DVR, I would think the cost to add an additional cable and outlet would be included.

So would I. If you're not planning to get a DVR from them, ask what their trip or visit charge is. Most of these companies impose a flat fee just for arriving at your doorstep. A simple task like that would most likely be included in the fee.

I would ask them but before you have them do the job, go to a local electronics guy and ask what they would charge. Explore all your options. Unfortunetly (and it is true with all providers) you seem to only get the best deal if you are a new customer. Be careful and good luck.
