It's a nice idea for great game players to earn money and yet to enjoy playing video games, though i however think it leads to a jobless future because most of the players that compete in these tournaments don't really have any other skills, and eventually console gaming will be pretty much dead So what are they going to do about the futures of there kids? You cant leave a legacy behind. I might not make much but i can certainly say to my kids that I work hard for the money I earn.

You certainly need to be flexible. I wouldn't say that gaming is simply going to disappear but game systems change and games do. PCs will probably still be here in a decade, but LoL and DOTA may not be. The professional players need to know when to change the discipline because a time will come there no longer will be paid tournaments in the game they are best at... You always need a plan B, too, but it must be hard to get through college or something while playing professionally.

There is a highschooler in my town who earns good money by creating gaming videos for online games. He records the action and publishes the video. It promotes the games. He also levels up and sells gaming characters to people who want to start off with a lot of skills, powers, etc. I understand it is a huge business worldwide..these online games

yea i follow some people that make a good bit. though i would like the skills that they have but i don't agree with the whole selling of characters that somebody have worked hard... the way i see it your not really learning anything by buying somebody elses Avatar

Testing games can be really profitable, as far as I know. Now, if you want to earn a decent living out of online gaming, you need to be disciplined and focused. This can be challenging, since we are talking about games! It is hard to concentrate solely on profit making.
