Christmas is still several months away, but I am still wondering what the smallest DTVs are these days? Is anybody making a handheld portable TV?

Jim,

I Googled your question and came up with many more DTV choices than I expected to find. Here's the link: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en....0...1ac.1.34.heirloom-hp..27.0.0.pvRjX5eULF4

One that caught my eye is an RCA handheld which uses AA batteries instead of an imbedded battery, so you don't have to wait for the battery to recharge, just exchange cells: 3.5

RCA also has a 7" HDTV

* Disclaimer: I do not have experience with any tiny DTV sets except for HAIER and they have fair pictures and terrible audio quality.

Jim

* Additional: I looked up the 3.5" set on Amazon and read mixed reviews. Apparently it is a 'badge-engineered' set that is sold under several manufacturers names and it does not have an external antenna jack.

Hopefully this thread isn't considered too old to resurrect. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving. Has anybody seen any other portable DTVs lately. It seems like most of the ones I see are old stock.

Here's an interesting RCA tablet/ DTV combo. Yea, it's slow, it only has a single core processor, but it's 720p, has MOBILE DTV, has an external antenna port (Mini), HDMI out, and costs only a bit more than a plain tablet or portable TV. And yea, it has a sucky battery life like most cheap tablets/tvs. But if you don't need the tablet for intensive apps and use external power (like an external power pack or 12v adapter) it may be just what you're looking for.

I was in Ironwood MI this past weekend and had no local over the air DTV equipment. So, I am back in the market again. Yes, I know this is a very old post and no, I still haven't purchased yet!

You can find mobile Bat/AC 7" to 20" HDTVs on the web and at truck stops. Most are less or unknown brands. I guess the TVs are too small and not cost effective to have brand names?
