Subchannel Chat (Over-the-air) ie: THIS TV, RTN, Independent Channels

Let's talk about THIS TV,RTN, and other awesome sub-channels our affiliates have.

Does your market have a THIS TV or RTN or other awesome sub-channels not available on analog basic cable?

Do You enjoy the programming on THIS and RTN?

How strong does they lock in on your equipment?

I like THIS TV alot. Their movie selection is getting better by the day. They don't show to many TV shows except Outer Limits, patty duke, mister ed, and a few obscure 80's cartoon series I don't remember quite well. This is the only movie type sub-channel we have out here. The Rhode Island market has an RTN but I'm to far away (80+ miles) to catch them.

Does anyone live in a market that has that "Universal sports" sub-channel? Is it like an ESPN knock off or do they show actual MLB games? Or is it mostly independent sports games (city/town games). How about music channels? We don't have any out here.

Maybe someday they'll add even more sub-channels on the digital spectrum. I hope they do . I'm sure we'll all agree rather then pay 10 bucks a month for analog cable when we can get FREE crystal clear picture and sound plus some extra movie channels the cable watchers don't get. :thumb:

Nice find with the TV. :) We now get This TV over here, and I love it. I'm not too crazy about some of the wacky kids shows. Love the old movies and shows every once in a while. Wiki now lists This TV availability of 60%, to US households.

We started getting THIS TV a few weeks ago. It's great. Mr Ed every weekend. I watch THIS TV on a regular basis. Universal Sports is pretty much like ESPN. It has an assortment of all kinds of US and World sports programming. The only local sports it broadcasts around here is Real Salt Lake professional soccer.

I want to experiment with getting that affiliate with the RTN sub-channel. It's transmitting out of rhode island, tvfool says I'm about 62 miles from it in the pink range so it's definetly a challenge. Maybe I'll try it out one day.

oh yeah if you ever happen to do a scan, and see something new pop up let us know what you find. You never know down the road there might be more sub-channels added.

Nice to speculate! ;)

I get both RTN and THIS. THIS's movies are not in my favor though, they're older than shiznit but ones no one has heard of. the only one i remember was Fluke and F.I.S.T , and that was it. the others are obscure movies and not much to my preference. the movie, Repo Man was there and it was so odd, i had to change the channel. it was NOTHING close to the description in the EPG for it.

The shows i love most on THIS are the B&W TV shows. i haven't seen them since they were ditched on TV Land in favor or stupid reality series. and i hadn't seen them in decades. i wish they'd add in Lassie though.

RTN is my de-facto favorite, esp on Sat nights. they play Battlestar Galactica (the original, not the crappy remake) the original Knight Rider, Buck Rogers, and Black Sheep Squadron.

Those two plus the sub-channel to CBS, MyNetworkTV (where i watch daily Frasier episodes) are the only 'new' ones now and i hope there are more post-transition.

same with Knight Rider the 1982 series will always be the best compared to the 2008 series. the butchering of Glen Larson shows really ************es me off.

The movie, Knight Rider 2000, would've been great had it been the 'new' series since it at least had William Daniels as KITT, and David Hasslehoff. taking those two out in favor of another Fast and Furious rip-off really ruins it.

And the new BSG is all about sex. the cylons and all. and Starbuck and Boomer are females. explain how that one worked out in-universe? what the cylons did it or was it unexplained? the only thing remotely resembling the previous series is the design of the star-cruisers. they at least left those alone.

Oooh, tell me I didn't miss Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine, did they show it today???
I didn't know they were doing this until around 2:00 or 3:00pm today so they may have.

At 11:00pm tonight they're going to show 'Theater of Blood.' Good ol' Vincent makes a guy eat his poodles in that one! LOL

Poodle pie, anyone? :)

CadDad, thanks for the pic!
Vincent was one of a kind.

Vincent Price also made an appearance as the inventor in Edward Scissorhands

I don't think THIS will play the Amityville movies, THIS plays a lot of rare or obscure movies, but not any well-known ones like those.

I was reading your post and saying to myself, what the heck is he talking about, stupid me it's "ThIS" TV Network. They need to rethink that name. ;)

You guys ever catch the Vincent Price Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special skit? Saturday Night Live - Vincent Price's Thanksgiving Special - Hulu on AOL - Truveo Video Search Pretty funny. :)
