Unlink account - XFinity

I erroneously merged my father’s Xfinity account with mine. Unfortunately, when I try to connect WiFi pods at my father’s house, it’s trying to connect to my modem at my place. The xFi app doesn’t give me the option to remove my modem and add my father’s modem. I was told by customer service that I need to remove my father’s info from my account and have him create a separate My account. The problem is I’ve spoken to several Xfinity customer service reps and local store and no one seems to know how to unlink the accounts. Very frustrating as we have WiFi pods that cannot be used until this is resolved.
